Pavlova

I made Pavlova tonight for my mum's gathering tomorrow. She's having her friends over and asked me to make it for them. I don't make it often cause my husband doesn't like it. I think Maryam, you don't like it either. I'm just putting it in the blog to fill it up. I've only had to ever use this one recipe and it's always turned out fine.

This is how it turned out:

Haweyas Discoveries

For lunch at AIC ( australian islamic college where i worked for the last year and half) I had premium honey crackers, cottage cheese, tuna and alfalfa sprouts. heaps of them. i love sprouts, Haweya just discoverd them this year since she decided to start eating healthier.

Something else Haweya discoverd was Pure n Natural's (westfeild carousels) frozen yoghur( FY). other places dont have them the same or dont even have it available on the menu. its so good! they have 99% fat free vanilla icecream of yoghurt. And its only $3 for a cup or cone!!

After haweya saw me get my FY she didnt believe it was FY and said ' I don't believe thats FY but i want one.' so at the counter she asked for a FY expecting the guy to say ' we dont have FY' but instead she got one. hah. and then she tasted it and went ' MMMMM!' lolz.

Just look at the happiness in those eyes:
...cant top that.

today i made japanese food.

Today i made some soba noodles( made from buckwheat which is aparently really healthy and only takes 4mins to boil) and then fried it in a pan with fishballs cut up, carrot, brocholli and beans with oyster sauce and honey soy sauce. smelt nice. i like how fishballs cut up can fool people as being scallops. I remember Sammia thought Sity's noodles at her baby shower had scallops in it but Sity said ' Im not that rich' :P

so there's the pic. the qualitys mobile and grainy coz i cant find the usb cord for my cam to upload properer pix. On the side is tamago sushi i made which is sweetish/soyish egg thats constantly folded while its being fried. i learnt to make it off this website http://www.makemysushi.com/make_tamago_sushi.html

hehe, i over fried it abit and put too much soy sauce coz its meant to b more light yellowy.

I also made green tea icecream, i bought the mix from asian stores, they dont have gelatine in it coz they use seaweed jelly instead, its really easy to make, add 3/4cup of milk and an egg yoke and whisk or beat it until its thick then put it in the freezer for 3 hours. comes out pretty normal like real icecream, taste good too. reminds me of vanilla icecream but without that fatty feeling after coz it has a tea smell and taste which as they say is refreshing. its not bitter like some green teas either. a peice of mint wouldv topped it as garnish :P

i know sity is on board to contribute to hunting down good edible halal food( in perth mainly), but for the hell of it, i invited my others to add FOOD blogs. im admin so i can delete or edit if it has haram content! hehe. but i doubt theyd bother taking photos of stuff their gonna eat :P sarah told me to not embarass her, i told her if i take a photo at a restraunt i wont use flash or ill use my mobile even tho my mobile makes the stupid camera snap sound that cant be disabled.

mmmm chinese tea mmmm

I was first introduced to it by dr debowski at work, he served it in a tiny little cup and told me to shoot it down and wait for the aftertaste. the tea was really hot so it kinda burnt my mouth BUT then... i felt the flavours evolve, first a tea-ish mushroomy taste, then it hit me--PEACH and MANGO and all things sweet and good.

the tea comes in cute vacuum sealed bags and then u put the scrunchd drived leaves in a little pot ( i put it in an infuser, same thing i guess but came out more diluted and less strong) and then the leaves puff out and get big so u can actually see that its like nice leaves n stuff. i guess it adds to the quality of it. and and, it doesnt taste tobacco/cafinated-ish either. OH and he told me ( coz he knows alot about china coz his wife is chinese) that the leaves r grown in really good quality soil and its grown amongst fruit trees n stuff thats why it has a fruity after taste. i just love it, its not like commerical fruit flavourd/infused tea. its like the shit, :P

heres a picture. i just googled. dr d told me to take sum b4 i quit work, which i did, wish i took more :P

i so recommend trying it. ITS SO GOOD. it makes ur breath smell nice for ages lol. oh and i forgot to mention- its good for you! makes u lose weight, makes ur skin clear, gets rid of the white stuff on ur toungue, makes ur hair strong and shiny, good for ur bones, cleanses ur blood, antioxidant. well i dunno if thats all true, but i bet it does hehe.
